Farm Tour: Short Farm (McGregor)

The Greater Mille Lacs Chapter is hosting a farm tour at the Short Farm.

The Shorts raise bees and chickens and have a larger organize garden and orchard. They are in the process of deciding what to do with the back 40 acres. They are working to preserve the native grasses and hope to be planting food plots and pollinator habitat with the assistance of the DNR. They spent this year knocking our invasive species. They live on a small environmental lake so we have a lot of unique limits on what they can and cannot raise.  

There will be a walking tour and a smoked/grilled ham sourced from the Nix farm. Please feel free to bring sides to share and your own drinks. Depending on weather there may be a bonfire and swimming may be available in the lake.
