Apple Tree Pruning Workshop

03/09/2022 01:00 PM - 03:00 PM CT

Description

This event has reached max capacity. No walk-up registration available.

This is an alternate workshop date for those who would like to avoid the severe wind chill on the originally scheduled February 4th workshop.

Join farmers Cindy Hale and Jeff Hall at their farm where they grow a variety of fruit and raise sheep and rabbits. This class is appropriate for participants of all skill levels. We will cover the tools and techniques used for training younger apple trees to maximize health & production, and restorative pruning of older trees. We'll cover standard size, semi-dwarf, and high density trees. Class will begin with a brief introduction, followed by hands-on work. All tools needed will be provided but you can bring your own if you have them too. Dress for the weather, bring snowshoes if you have them, wear warm boots - you will be walking in deep snow throughout the class.
You can learn more about the farm here: https://clovervalleyfarms.com/

Address: Clover Valley Farms, 6534 Homestead Rd. Duluth MN 55804

This event is hosted by the Lake Superior Chapter.

SFA's COVID-19 Preparedness Plan will be implemented at this event.
