2023 Midwest Soil Health Summit

SFA's premier soil health event, the Midwest Soil Health Summit will be held at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria, Minnesota on March 8 and 9, 2023. Join pioneering experts in the soil health world from near and far for this unique two-day event. The event space opens up at 12 PM on Wednesday, with programming beginning at 1 PM. The event ends at 5 PM on Thursday.

Featured Speakers:

Dave Brandt went 100% no-till in 1971 and later on began cover cropping with soils that had 0.75% organic matter that today range from 6.8-8%.

Gene Goven is a farmer and rancher in North Dakota who has managed to increase production by 450% on his native prairies. He now leaves more forage behind than he used to produce.

Dr. Elaine Ingham is an expert soil microbiologist who has advanced our knowledge and understanding of the soil food web for decades and has successfully restored the ecological function of soils on six different continents.

Anna Cates, PhD will share on-farm research from Minnesota comparing farms using conventional and soil health practices.

Additionally, you will hear from expert local farmers including cattlemen, regenerative crop farmers, and our own Kent Solberg and Doug Voss.

Registration: Starting January 16, 2023, registration will cost $150 for members and $200 for nonmembers.
