Homesteading Series: Identifying and Tapping Maple Trees for Syrup

02/06/2025 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM CT

Description

Tapping Maple Trees to collect sap and make syrup is something that Native American Tribes practiced centuries ago and is still in use today, however few people know how to even identify the right trees and carry out the simple process correctly.

Herman Bartsch, SFA member and owner of Deep Roots Farm is leading a Zoom course to teach and pass on this tradition.

Join us online (Zoom info below) to learn the how-to and hopefully you will be able to tap your own trees this winter!

Registration requested.

Note: SFA is excited to announce a new campaign featuring Homesteading in 2025. A mixture of Zoom Meetings, In-person events and podcasts will be hosted to build community and re-learn traditional methods that create independence and stability. Be sure to follow along.
