Climate Smart Seedling Production Field Day
Description
Come and learn about the work of the Farm & Forest Growers Cooperative, a group of small-scale farmers and nursery-people producing Climate Smart Tree Seedlings for Minnesota woodland owners and forest restoration organizations.
We will visit three different growing operations around Finland, MN, and discuss, 1) why Climate Smart Trees are important, 2) what it means to be a grower, 3) how to get involved (as a grower, seed collector, seedling buyer or just a general supporter).
Light snacks and beverages will be provided. We will start at the AgroEcology Center, then visit Round River Farm and then Maxwell's Nursery, all a short drive from each other.
Registration: $10 for SFA members, $15 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is requested, though walkups are welcome. This is a 101-level event.
This event is hosted by the Lake Superior Chapter of SFA, in collaboration with the Farm and Forest Growers Cooperative.
