Bounty and Blooms: Growing Cut- Flowers at California Street Farm

07/22/2025 05:30 PM - 07:30 PM CT

Description

Learn how growing cut flowers alongside your fruit and vegetables can add a new income stream and provide other benefits to your farm or garden!

Meet the Twin Cities Metro Growers Network at California Street Farm, where farmer Elyssa Eull will share how cut flowers have been an asset to this urban farm. We'll also hear from University of Minnesota researchers and fellow farmer Queen Frye about what they've learned about integrating cut flowers in urban vegetable farms, as well as the beneficial insects these crops can draw.

You'll also learn how to arrange your own small market bouquet, under the expertise of florist Reba Berge! Chef Kenji will offer culinary tastings, and a light meal will be provided by HEAL Mpls.

Speakers:
Elyssa Eull, California Street Farm
Mary Rogers, University of Minnesota
Noah Burley, University of Minnesota
Bela Arias, University of Minnesota
Queen Frye, R. Roots Farm
